I had figured the price of 5k was about right - since it takes 5k Balth faction to get one and that's equivalent to unlocking 5 skills - which would normally cost 1k each.

I'd think that attempting to price based on the possible drop's values is a very tough equation. There are too many variables with unknown value. What's the drop percentage of an everlasting? Even if you make simplifying assumptions (gold item dropped will be worth on average 456g), there's still a lot of variability.

Realistically, the keys are just the latest and greatest invention by Anet for a title that will later be called "weak cause its bought".

I've seen people selling stuff in Kamada and will spam things like 100k+15ecto (or 15 z-keys). The Z-key is worth, right now, the same as an ecto and is much easier to get your hands on for the majority of people.

Not true. I was buying Diessa Chalices the other day for 750g each, and another guy was offering 1k each.

Yet while he did buy them faster than I did, I still managed to buy about 30 in the time it took him to buy 50.

I've made so much gold off of them!
Since the Double Faction AB weekend, I've made enough gold to get Elite Kurzick for my Monk, and Vabbian Armor for my Rit. I usually don't farm in PvE because I get bored, and AB/FA/RA is a nice alternative to this. Prices will probably drop soon though.

I've already got all the armor and weapons I want. I spend my money on keys because I enjoy the thrill of gambling. Its as simple as that. What good is having lots of money in storage if there's nothing on which to spend it?

Actually the sale of an item is set by "patience or impatience" of the buyer. Late at night/early morning I sold 10 keys for 100k that's how bad this person wanted them. Why? I have no clue, but, I had them and he paid my price and I was just joking when I said 10k each lol, but, he paid it.

So, 6k is a reasonable price to an impatient buyer you can bet that and when you play when I do it's easy to get those prices because there's not a lot of people on trading thus demand is still there, but, the supply is lower. I've always been able to sell above socalled market values late at night early mornings around 2am my time.

I cant imagine paying more than 5k, but then again, i said i'd never pay more than 4.5k..lol.

I noticed last night there were two people selling for 6k ea while i was buying for 5k ea. EVERY TIME someone tried to sell a key for 5k they would run over and buy it. Power-trading is all that is going on there. I will never pay 6k even though I have my sights on (eventually) maxing zrank, in like 5 years hehe.

The keys will drop to 4.5-5k as the month wears on, then jump to 6 when the new tonic comes out, maybe more if it is awesome. Can anyone say Everlasting Dragon in honor of Dragon Fest?

Demand was high due to the introduction of the new tonic for June. That's why people began to sell at 6k a piece, but it seems to have settled down now. To be honest, I didn't see many being sold at 6k a piece, so I sold mine quickly at 5.5k a piece.

price was 5k,then for some reason the prices dropet to 4.5k but now for the prices has grown back to 5.2k-5.5k or 1 ecto + 200-500g.

arena net found a way for pvp players to make money too,i think its a bit out of control becuase as it seems prices are just gettinh higher and higher and i saw few players were asking to buy keys for 6k.

as it seems prices will go even higher then the oil prices,someone have to do something,else we or arena net.
i think a mechent that sells keys for 5.5k should solve this problem.
